Red Sea

Note:

For the Red Sea we highly recommend the Red Sea Pilot, Morgan & Davies which we found very accurate, navigated using the pull-out charts and had copies of their Arabic letter of introduction which we did have to use on occasion. Please remember that commercial charts are based on old surveys and you MUST use conventional navigation methods and not rely on GPS. In any case we had a safety factor of 2 miles in daylight and 5 miles in darkness. Unfortunately there are many reminders to be seen along the way of yachts who did not succeed in this area.
